Project - Chestnut Avenue, Esher
- Completed date :
- November 2017
The architects worked hard to improve the flow and usability of the living areas in this house, which had previously suffered the usual separation and isolation issues, and in doing so opened up the kitchen, dining and sitting areas to create a masterfully spacious living space, which was both unique and exciting from both inside and out. A floating ‘C’ shaped rendered structure extends to the rear, with a gap on one side which frames the views into the garden, and allows light to flood into the kitchen and dining areas. Large sliding doors separate the main living areas, giving the owners complete flexibility to open or close off rooms as needed. Bespoke walnut faced joinery is used extensively, including full height storage in the TV room, as well as wall-hung cabinetry to the dining room were created completely in-house by our own master craftsmen. A compact WC was added under the staircase, with taps and wall lights exiting through extensively mirrored walls. Upstairs, an en-suite bathroom was added to one bedroom, the family bathroom was completely redesigned and refurbished, whilst the rest of the house was also fully refurbished. Outside, the rear garden was completely redesigned, and the transformation completed by our landscape contractor Rupert Peters, with stunning results obvious to all.
